Potter of the Week | Peak Village Pottery Studio 🤎

This week we’re celebrating Fiona McKinley Beris and her beautifully observed domestic ware inspired ceramics, created at our Peak Village pottery studio in Rowsley, Derbyshire.

Fiona began her journey with taught pottery classes at The Clayrooms, building skills in handbuilding and surface decoration and now works independently as a studio member, developing her own distinctive style.

Her handbuilt vases and sculptural pieces reimagine familiar everyday objects in clay, blending humour, technical skill and a strong sense of personality. From washing machines to kitchen classics, her work captures the quiet charm of domestic life in ceramic form.

Last weekend marked the official open day of our new, relocated and expanded Loughborough pottery studio at 92 Ashby Road, and what a weekend it was! 🤎

After outgrowing our original space, we’re now settled into a larger home right here in Loughborough and across two days the new studio was filled with people trying the potter’s wheel for the first time, handbuilding clay fish sculptures, sharing cake, conversation and creative energy.

Seeing both new visitors and familiar faces step confidently into the space reminded us exactly why we’ve loved building a creative community in Loughborough over the past two years.

The open day may be over, but the studio is now fully open.

Pottery classes, workshops and studio membership are underway at The Clayrooms, 92 Ashby Road, Loughborough and we’d love to welcome you in!

What an animal pottery sculpture workshop with Kate Berry is really like 🐾

If you’ve ever looked at animal sculpture and thought, “I’d love to try that, but I wouldn’t know where to start” - this is for you.
Kate Berry’s animal sculpture days are fully guided, calm and welcoming 🎨

You’ll be led step by step through the process, working with professional materials and tools and supported at every stage - from first shaping to adding character and detail.
No sculpture experience needed.
No pressure to be perfect.
